convergence…

so, the title of my blog is based on a word that i feel God spoke to me about a year ago.  i’m sitting in a starbucks (i know, i know… that’s like 80% of my life) and heard the word ‘convergence.’  i wasn’t sure what to do with it, but felt like it was important.  i kept processing and saw how everything in our lives has to converge with our faith.  so much of our life is compartmentalized (work, family, church, friends (christian, non-christian, school, work, etc.) and our faith is stripped down to theological truth that has very little impact in our lives.  is this the way we’re supposed to live or is there a reconciling force that brings us all together?  i’m thinking that our faith in Jesus and our hope in Him is the force that binds us together as children of God.  we’re meant to live life in the Spirit which means that everything is supposed to intersect.  if i were to distill it, i’m hoping to be a part of a community that is led by the Spirit, led by Jesus, led by God…  i’m yearning for Christ and the Kingdom to be not just a voice or a priority in my life, but the driving force of my life.  covergence is a picture of unleashing the kingdom of God on earth as it is in Heaven…

The Announcement…

So, the announcement of my departure from the GrX staff was officially made during our services this past Sunday.  It definitely makes it more real now.  It was not easy.  I know that I’m known for being emotional and crying a lot, but the thought of leaving our faith community/family was overwhelming to say the least.  I’ll still be around for the next 9 months or so attending GrX, but I’ll be spending the bulk of my time completing my degree at Fuller, launching ‘the Dignitas Project’, creating ‘Convergence’, and of course spending more time with my family.

First things first – an impromptu family vacation to Hawaii before the hectic schedule of my life begins.  Ah, the thought of surfing, playing with my family on the beach, and eating good food sounds so good right now…

beginning…

so, this entry begins something i’ve never done and never really had an inclination to do – blog. some people have been wondering if i will keep one to let them know the current ‘on-goings’ of the lee family and some have been wondering if i’ve been writing some of my latest thoughts down somewhere. so, in an effort to do both, i’m starting this blog. i’m going to express stuff in my heart and mind in an unedited fashion so i hope that anybody that stumbles on this blog will be patient enough and open enough to everything that comes out. okay, enough of this… let’s begin…
